Getting There

• Car

  From Platte River State Park, exit the park and head southeast on NE-66 S. Continue on NE-66 S for approximately 15 miles. Merge onto US-75 N towards Omaha. After about 10 miles, take the exit toward NE-370 E. Merge onto NE-370 E and continue for about 3 miles. Take the exit for 144th St, then turn left onto S 144th St. Continue on S 144th St for about 3 miles, then turn right onto Harrison St. After about 1 mile, turn left onto S 154th St. Chalco Hills Recreation Area will be on your left at 8901 S 154th St, Omaha, NE 68138. There is no entry fee for the park.

• Public Transportation

  To reach Chalco Hills Recreation Area via public transportation from Platte River State Park, you will need to first arrange transportation to the nearest bus station. From the park, you may need a taxi or rideshare service to reach the Omaha bus station. Once at the station, take Metro Transit bus route 2 towards 'Westroads Mall.' Get off at the stop at 144th St & Harrison St. From there, it is about a 20-minute walk south along 144th St to reach Chalco Hills Recreation Area at 8901 S 154th St. Please check the local bus schedules for the most accurate timings and routes.
