Getting There

• Car

Use a GPS or map application to set your destination to Johnson Lake State Recreation Area at 1 Drive 25A, Elwood, NE 68937. From major highways, such as I-80 or US-34, take the exit toward NE-183. Follow NE-183 North until you reach the junction with NE-92. Turn left onto NE-92 West and follow it until you see signs for Johnson Lake State Recreation Area. The entrance will be marked along the road.

• Public Transportation

  Public transportation options are limited due to the rural nature of the area. However, you can use Greyhound or local bus services to reach nearby towns such as Elwood or Holdrege. Once in Elwood, you may need to arrange for a taxi or rideshare service to reach Johnson Lake State Recreation Area, as there are no direct public transport options to the park.
