Getting There

• Car

  If you're traveling by car, the most common route is to drive to Pokhara first. From Pokhara, take the highway to Nayapul, which is about 1.5 hours away. In Nayapul, you will need to park your vehicle at the designated parking area. From here, continue your journey on foot or hire a local guide. The trek to Ghorepani from Nayapul is approximately 4-6 hours, depending on your pace. You will pass through several villages, including Tikhedhunga and Ulleri, with steep stone steps leading up to Ghorepani.

• Public Transportation

  To reach Ghorepani using public transportation, start by taking a tourist bus from Kathmandu to Pokhara. This journey takes about 6-8 hours and costs around NPR 1,000-1,500. Once in Pokhara, you can catch a local bus or a shared jeep to Nayapul, which takes about 1.5 hours and costs around NPR 200-300. After arriving at Nayapul, you will need to trek to Ghorepani, which will take approximately 4-6 hours on foot. Make sure to carry enough water and snacks for the trek, as facilities may be limited along the trail.

• Trekking

  From Nayapul, follow the trail towards Tikhedhunga, where you can stop for a short break. Continue trekking up the steep stone steps to Ulleri, which is known for its breathtaking views. From Ulleri, the trail continues to Ghorepani, where you will find several lodges and tea houses for accommodation. The trek is moderately challenging, so ensure you wear proper trekking shoes and carry trekking poles if needed.
