Walking
If you are in Bhaktapur Durbar Square, start by heading east towards the main road. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with the road leading to Changunarayan Temple. Turn left onto this road. Follow the road as it winds through the village and past local shops. After about 30 minutes of walking, you will reach the outskirts of Bhaktapur. From there, you will see signs pointing towards Helambu. Keep walking straight for another 1 hour until you reach the entrance of Helambu. The journey is scenic, with lush greenery on both sides.
Bicycle
Rent a bicycle from a local shop in Bhaktapur, preferably near Bhaktapur Durbar Square. Head east towards the main road, then take a left towards Changunarayan Temple. Cycling along this route will provide you with beautiful views of the countryside. Continue for about 1.5 hours until you reach Helambu. Be mindful of the road conditions, as some parts may be uneven.
Public Transport (Bus)
To take a bus to Helambu, walk to the Bhaktapur bus station near the entrance of Bhaktapur Durbar Square. Look for buses heading towards Sindhupalchowk or those specifically labeled for Helambu. The bus ride will take about 1 hour. Make sure to ask the conductor if they stop at Helambu to avoid getting lost. Once you arrive, follow the signs to the main area of Helambu.
