Getting There

Walking
If you are starting from Bhaktapur Durbar Square, head east towards the main entrance of the square. Continue straight on the main road (Basantapur Street) until you reach the crossroads at the end of the square. Turn left onto the narrow alleyway, which will lead you towards the Golden Gate. Walk straight for about 5 minutes, and you will see the ornate Golden Gate on your right. The gate is located near the 55-Window Palace.

If you are starting from Taumadhi Square, begin by walking west towards the main road. Once you reach the main road, turn right and continue straight until you reach the fork. At the fork, take the left path which leads you towards the Golden Gate. After about 10 minutes of walking, keep an eye out for the Golden Gate on your left side, just before the 55-Window Palace.

From the Bhaktapur Bus Park, exit the park and turn right onto the main road. Continue walking straight for about 15 minutes until you reach the entrance of Bhaktapur Durbar Square. Once inside the square, follow the earlier directions by heading east and then left onto Basantapur Street. You will find the Golden Gate on your right side after a short walk.

If you are coming from the Changunarayan Temple area, head down the hill towards Bhaktapur. Follow the main road until you reach a T-junction. At the T-junction, turn left and continue straight for about 20 minutes until you enter Bhaktapur. Once inside, navigate to Bhaktapur Durbar Square, and from there, follow the directions to the Golden Gate as mentioned above.
