If you're driving, start from the town of Jupal and head towards Phoksundo. The road is mostly unpaved and can be rough, so a 4WD vehicle is recommended. Follow the signs toward Phoksundo Lake, which is approximately 30 km away from Jupal. The final stretch will take you directly to the Dolpo Lake area. Keep an eye on your GPS for the coordinates 29.3347, 82.7967.

Public Transportation

Take a local bus or jeep from Jupal to Phoksundo. The fare is around NPR 400-600. The journey will take approximately 2-3 hours, depending on road conditions. Once you arrive at Phoksundo, you can either walk to the Dolpo Lake area, which is about a 3-4 hour trek, or hire a local guide for assistance. Make sure to have cash on hand for any fees.

Trekking

If you opt for trekking, from Phoksundo, follow the well-marked trails leading to Dolpo Lake. Ensure you have a good map or a local guide, as some paths can be tricky. The trek can take between 2-4 hours based on your pace. Bring adequate supplies, as there are limited services along the way.
