Car
If you are traveling by car, first navigate to the town of Namche Bazaar, which is a popular starting point for treks to Everest. From Kathmandu, you can hire a private vehicle or take a tourist bus to Jiri or Salleri (this bus trip will take around 8-10 hours). From Jiri or Salleri, take a local jeep or bus to Lukla, which takes about 5-6 hours. Once in Lukla, you will need to trek approximately 2-3 hours to reach the Everest View Point. Follow the signs leading to Namche Bazaar, and the viewpoint is accessible along the trekking path.
Public Transportation
To reach Everest View Point using public transportation, take a tourist bus from Kathmandu to Jiri or Salleri. The bus journey takes about 8-10 hours. After arriving at either location, you can take a local jeep to Lukla, which takes around 5-6 hours. In Lukla, you will need to hire a local guide or join a trekking group to reach the Everest View Point, which requires a trek of around 2-3 hours. Make sure to check the bus schedules as they may vary and it is advisable to book your tickets in advance.
Trekking from Lukla
Once you have arrived in Lukla, prepare for your trek to Everest View Point. The trail is well-marked and takes you through beautiful landscapes, traditional Sherpa villages, and scenic viewpoints. Begin your trek by heading toward Namche Bazaar, which is approximately 10 km away from Lukla. The trek will take about 2-3 hours, and you will gain elevation, so be sure to take your time and enjoy the stunning views along the way. It’s advisable to be properly equipped with trekking gear and sufficient water, as there are limited facilities along the trail.
