Getting There

• Trek

  From Everest Base Camp, you will need to trek back to Lukla. Begin your trek by following the same route you took to reach Everest Base Camp. This will involve descending through Gorak Shep and then down to Pheriche, continuing on to Namche Bazaar and finally reaching Lukla. This trek can take approximately 3-5 days depending on your pace. Ensure you have a local guide to assist you, as the trails can be challenging and it's easy to get lost.

• Flight

  Once you arrive in Lukla, you will take a domestic flight to Pokhara. Flights to Pokhara are frequent and last about 30 minutes. It is advisable to book your flight in advance as they can fill up quickly, especially during peak trekking seasons. The cost for a one-way flight can range from $100 to $200 USD.

• Taxi or Public Bus

  Upon reaching Pokhara, you will need to get to the starting point of the Mardi Himal trek. You can take a taxi from the airport or a local public bus to Kande. The taxi ride takes about 30 minutes and costs around $15 to $25 USD. Alternatively, the public bus is a cheaper option but may take up to an hour and costs around $1 to $2 USD.

• Trek

  From Kande, the trek to Mardi Himal Base Camp begins. Follow the signs leading to Mardi Himal, which is well-marked. The trek is moderate and takes about 4-6 hours to reach the base camp. Make sure to carry enough water and snacks, as well as a map or GPS device to guide you.
