From Gokyo Lakes, you'll need to first drive down towards the town of Gokyo (if you're not already there). Take the road leading south towards the village of Dole. Once you reach Dole, continue on the road until you reach the main trail junction towards Takasindu. Follow the signs for Takasindu and continue driving. The journey will take you through scenic landscapes, and you may need to hire a local driver familiar with the area. Expect to pay around NPR 3000-5000 for this leg of the journey, depending on your negotiation skills and the vehicle type. Continue until you reach Takasindu, where Kamodanda is located.
Public Transportation
To reach Kamodanda from Gokyo Lakes using public transportation, first, head to the nearest bus station in Gokyo. You will need to catch a bus heading towards Namche Bazaar. The bus ride will take approximately 6-8 hours and costs around NPR 600-800. Once you arrive at Namche Bazaar, you will need to catch another bus or jeep heading to Takasindu. This journey takes about 2-3 hours and typically costs around NPR 400-600. Upon reaching Takasindu, follow the signs or ask locals for directions to Kamodanda, which is located at JJJ8+G5.
Hiking
If you're feeling adventurous and want to explore the area, you can hike from Gokyo Lakes to Kamodanda. This trek will take approximately 6-8 hours, depending on your pace and the trails you take. Begin your hike by following the trail southeast from Gokyo Lakes towards Dole, then continue south towards Takasindu. Make sure to carry enough water and snacks, and consider hiring a local guide for better navigation. This option is free aside from any potential fees for a guide.
