Car
If you are traveling by car, start from Pokhara, which is the nearest major city. Drive towards the town of Parche, which is approximately 25 kilometers from Pokhara. Follow the signs to the Annapurna Conservation Area, and take the road that leads towards the Kapuche Glacier Lake. The roads can be narrow and winding, so drive cautiously. Once you reach Parche, park your car at a designated parking area and prepare for a trek.
Public Transportation
To reach Kapuche Glacier Lake using public transportation, take a bus or microbus from Pokhara to Parche. Buses to Parche leave frequently from the Lakeside area of Pokhara. The journey takes about 1 to 1.5 hours, depending on traffic. Once you arrive in Parche, you will need to hire a local guide or find a trekking group as the lake is a short trek away from the town. Make sure to negotiate the fare for the guide beforehand.
Trekking
From Parche, the trek to Kapuche Glacier Lake takes about 2-3 hours. Follow the local trail that leads into the Annapurna region. The path is well-trodden, but be prepared for some steep sections. Make sure to wear appropriate trekking shoes and carry enough water and snacks. Enjoy the stunning views along the way, and don’t forget your camera!
Costs
If you take public transportation, expect to pay around NPR 200-300 for the bus ride from Pokhara to Parche. Hiring a local guide for the trek may cost you around NPR 1500-3000, depending on your negotiation skills and the season. Additionally, make sure to carry cash as some places may not accept card payments.
