Public Transportation
From Kanchenjunga Base Camp, trek back to the nearest village, which is Taplejung. The trek will take several days depending on your pace. Once you reach Taplejung, you can find local buses or shared jeeps heading towards Lelep. The fare for the bus is approximately NPR 300-500, and it takes around 2-3 hours to reach. Make sure to ask for the bus to Lelep at the bus station.
Private Vehicle
If you prefer to travel in comfort, you can hire a private vehicle from Taplejung to Lelep. This option is more expensive, costing around NPR 5,000-7,000, but it provides a direct and faster route. Once you reach Lelep, you will find signs directing you to the Kanchenjunga Conservation Area entrance.
Trekking
From Lelep, begin your trek towards Kanchenjunga Conservation Area. Follow the marked trails leading towards the conservation area, which is approximately a 4-6 hour trek from Lelep. Ensure you have a guide or a map as the trails can be challenging. The natural beauty along the way is stunning, so take your time and enjoy the scenery.
