Getting There

    From Kanchenjunga Base Camp, you will first need to descend to the nearest road access point. Follow the trail back to the village of Taplejung. Once you reach Taplejung, locate the main road and head towards Lelep. The Kanchenjunga Conservation Area office is located at JWHM+799, Lelep, Taplejung. The drive from Taplejung to Lelep typically takes about 1 to 1.5 hours depending on road conditions.

  • Public Transportation

    Start your journey by trekking back to Taplejung from Kanchenjunga Base Camp. In Taplejung, find the local bus or jeep service heading towards Lelep. Buses may be less frequent, so it’s advisable to check the schedule in advance. The ride from Taplejung to Lelep takes around 1 to 1.5 hours. Once you arrive in Lelep, make your way to the Kanchenjunga Conservation Area office at JWHM+799, Lelep, Taplejung.

  • Trekking

    If you prefer to trek, you can follow the established trails from Kanchenjunga Base Camp back to Taplejung. The trek will take approximately 2 to 3 days depending on your pace and the weather conditions. Once in Taplejung, you can either take a vehicle to Lelep or continue trekking directly to the Kanchenjunga Conservation Area office.
