Car
If you are driving from Thamel, head east on Tridevi Marg and continue straight until you reach the Ring Road. Turn left onto the Ring Road and follow it for about 5 kilometers. Keep an eye out for the signs for Boudhanath Stupa. When you reach the Boudhanath area, look for the parking areas designated for visitors. Once parked, the stupa is a short walk away.
Public Transportation
To reach Boudhanath Stupa by public transportation, take a microbus or local bus from Ratna Park in Kathmandu. Look for buses heading towards Boudhanath; they are usually marked with 'Boudha' or 'Boudhanath.' The bus journey will take approximately 30-45 minutes depending on traffic. Once you arrive at Boudhanath, you will see the stupa towering above you as you step off the bus. It’s a short walk from the bus stop to the entrance.
Taxi
If you prefer a taxi, you can easily find one in Thamel. Simply tell the driver 'Boudhanath Stupa' or show them the address: Kathmandu 44600. The drive will take around 30 minutes depending on traffic. Taxis can drop you off right at the entrance to the stupa, making it a convenient option.
