Car
From Thamel, head southeast on Tridevi Marg towards Bhagawan Bahal. Continue straight onto Pashupatinath Road for about 2 km. Turn left onto Rani Pokhari Road and follow it as it merges with Bhotahity Road. After approximately 1.5 km, you will see Kathmandu Durbar Square on your right. Look for parking options available nearby.
Public Transportation
From Thamel, walk to the nearest bus stop on Sorhakhutte Road. Take a microbus or local bus heading towards Koteshwor or Ratna Park. Get off at Ratna Park (the main bus terminal). From Ratna Park, you can either walk towards Basantapur (approximately 1 km) or take a short taxi ride to Kathmandu Durbar Square. Follow the road signs; the square is well marked.
