Walking
If you are in the Thamel area, head east on Tridevi Marg towards the intersection with the Pradarshani Marg. Turn left onto Pradarshani Marg and continue straight until you reach the Bagmati River. Cross the river using the footbridge and proceed straight on Boudhha Stupa Road. You will see the Boudhanath Stupa rising ahead of you. The entire walk should take around 30-40 minutes.
Local Bus
From Thamel, walk to the bus stop at the intersection of Tridevi Marg and Kantipath. Look for a bus heading towards Boudhha (you can ask locals for the correct bus number). The bus ride takes about 20 minutes; get off at the Boudhanath Stupa stop. From there, it’s a short walk to the stupa, which should take you about 5 minutes.
Taxi or Rickshaw
You can hire a taxi or a cycle rickshaw from anywhere in Kathmandu. Simply tell the driver you want to go to Boudhanath Stupa. The journey will take approximately 15-20 minutes, depending on traffic. Once you arrive, you will find the stupa directly in front of you.
