Walking
If you are in the Thamel area, start by heading south on Chaksibari Marg towards the intersection with the main road. Turn right onto the Durbar Marg road and continue walking until you reach the intersection with Bhaktapur Durbar Square. From there, turn left onto Hanuman Dhoka Sadak. You will see the historic Hanuman Dhoka right ahead.
Public Bus
Locate a public bus heading towards Basantapur, which is common from various parts of Kathmandu. Once on the bus, inform the conductor you are going to Hanuman Dhoka. The bus will drop you off near Basantapur Square. From there, walk a short distance down Hanuman Dhoka Sadak and you will reach the landmark.
Cycle Rickshaw
You can hire a cycle rickshaw from any major area in Kathmandu, such as Thamel or Ason. Tell the rickshaw driver to take you to Hanuman Dhoka. The ride will take about 10-15 minutes depending on traffic. The rickshaw can drop you off right outside the entrance to Hanuman Dhoka Sadak.
Taxi
Although you are not traveling by car, you can take a taxi for a more direct route. Simply find a taxi in your area and tell the driver you want to go to Hanuman Dhoka Sadak. This will be a quick ride, and you can ask to be dropped off at the entrance to Hanuman Dhoka.
