Taxi
If you're starting from the Thamel area, you can easily find a local taxi. Tell the driver to take you to Namobuddha Monastery, located at HHCM+F2R, Namobuddha Rd, Simalchaur Syampati. The journey will take around 45 minutes, depending on traffic. Make sure to confirm the fare before getting in.
Public Bus
From Thamel, walk to the Ratna Park bus station, which is about a 15-minute walk. Look for a bus heading towards Bhaktapur or Banepa. Ask the conductor to let you know when to get off at the Namobuddha stop. The ride will take about 1.5 hours. Once you get off, ask locals for directions to the monastery, which is approximately a 15-minute walk from the bus stop.
Motorbike Rental
You can rent a motorbike from one of the rental shops in Thamel. After renting, head east on the Ring Road. Follow signs for Bhaktapur, and then take the road that leads towards Namobuddha. The monastery is well signposted, and the ride will take approximately 1 hour. Ensure you have a map or GPS for easier navigation.
Walking Tour
If you're feeling adventurous and want to explore the area, you can start your journey by walking towards Bhaktapur. It's about 12 km from Thamel, which may take around 3 hours on foot. Follow the main road leading east. Once you reach Bhaktapur, ask for directions to Namobuddha, which is a short hike from there, about 30 minutes.
