Walking from Boudhanath Stupa
Begin your journey at Boudhanath Stupa, one of the largest stupas in Nepal. From the stupa, take the path leading south towards the main road. Once you reach the road, turn left onto the Boudha to Tushal Road. Continue walking straight for about 10-15 minutes until you see a sign for Shechen Monastery on your left. The monastery is located on Tushal-Mahankal Rd, approximately 1.5 km from the stupa.

Using public transportation (Microbus)
From Boudhanath Stupa, walk to the nearby microbus stop at Boudha Gate. Board a microbus heading towards Tushal. The fare is typically around NPR 20-30. Inform the conductor that you are going to Shechen Monastery. Get off at the stop closest to the monastery, which should be called 'Tushal.' From there, walk about 5 minutes to reach the monastery entrance on Tushal-Mahankal Rd.

Walking from Kathmandu Durbar Square
Start at Kathmandu Durbar Square. Head east on Bhaktapur Road and continue walking for about 1.5 km to reach the intersection with Boudha to Tushal Road. Turn left onto this road and continue straight for about 2 km. You will pass the Boudhanath Stupa on your right. Continue on Tushal-Mahankal Rd, where you will find Shechen Monastery on your left after approximately 1 km.
