Getting There

    Start from the Thamel area, which is a popular tourist hub in Kathmandu. Head east on Tridevi Marg until you reach the intersection with Pradarshani Marg. Turn left onto Pradarshani Marg and continue walking until you reach Kanti Path. At Kanti Path, take a right and walk straight until you reach the New Bus Park. From the Bus Park, you can follow the signs for Ichangunarayan or ask locals for directions. The route will lead you along a road that takes you through residential areas and eventually up into the hills. Keep walking until you see a sign for Single Tree, which is located on a hilltop in Ichangunarayan. The walk may take around 1.5 to 2 hours depending on your pace.

  • Public Transport (Microbus)

    From Thamel, walk to the nearest microbus station at Ratna Park. Look for a microbus heading towards Bhaktapur and get on. The fare is quite inexpensive. Inform the driver you want to get off at Ichangunarayan. Once you arrive, walk uphill towards the Single Tree. Follow the signs or ask locals for further directions. The journey will take around 30 minutes by microbus, followed by a 15-20 minute walk uphill.

    If you prefer cycling, rent a bicycle from one of the numerous rental shops in Thamel. Head towards the Ring Road and follow it until you reach the exit for Ichangunarayan.
