Getting There

  • Walking

    Start at the central area of Kathmandu, such as Thamel. From Thamel, head east towards the Ratna Park. Walk straight along the New Road until you reach the intersection at Bhaktapur Durbar Square. Keep walking straight until you reach the Panipokhari area. Once you reach Panipokhari, follow the signs directing you towards Ranibari Community Forest. The entrance to the forest is located near the Panipokhari water tank.

    From Thamel, walk to the nearest 'microbus' station, which is typically located near the Ratna Park area. Take a microbus heading towards 'Bhatbhateni' or 'Maharajgunj'. Request the driver to let you know when you reach Panipokhari. Once you get off at Panipokhari, head towards the water tank and follow the path that leads into the Ranibari Community Forest.
