7 Day Private Guided Buddhist Pilgrimage from Bodhgaya to Lumbini

Wonderful solo tour through Buddhist India!

Highly recommend Buddha Trail Tours for those interested in a trip through Buddhist India! They were very responsive via WhatsApp in the weeks leading up to my nine-day pilgrimage tour, and the provided escort and driver were more than helpful. When little problems arose (e.g., India-Nepal border crossing difficulties, issues with an outside tour guide), they quickly stepped in. I certainly could not have imagined doing this without them!

Full Day Lumbini Tour with Airport Pickup and Drop off

Awesome, wonderful experience exploring Lumbini

I loved the whole experience. Suhail was very knowledgeable about the history of Lumbini, life history of Siddhartha & Buddha. He was very prompt in picking me up from the airport. I knew some things and learnt a lot from Suhail. He took me to Lumbini Garden, Maya Devi temple, major Monasteries, Peace Pagoda. He also helped me to get good momo’s at one of the restaurants for lunch. The Tuk tuk ride was a life saver, it was very very hot and I cannot imagine without tuk tuk to go around all the monasteries. If someone who knows about Siddhartha, Gautama Buddha they will really appreciate this tour. I am blessed to visit this place and without Suhail being my tour guide I could not have done this tour by myself. Thank You Suhail for giving a wonderful tour of Lumbini

7 Days Varanasi to Lumbini Buddhist Expedition ( All Inclusive )

Wonderful experience.

I just completed the 7-Day Varanasi to Lumbini Buddhist Pilgrimage Tour and honestly, this is one of the best Buddhist circuit tours in India and Nepal I could have asked for. If you're searching for an all-inclusive Buddhist pilgrimage package covering Sarnath, Bodhgaya, Kushinagar, and Lumbini, this is it. The journey started right in Varanasi, with a smooth airport pickup and our first stop at Sarnath, the site of Buddha's first sermon, followed by an incredible evening at the Ganga Aarti ceremony on the ghats — a truly spiritual welcome to India. From there, we drove to Bodh Gaya, home to the sacred Mahabodhi Temple and the legendary Bodhi Tree, where Buddha attained enlightenment. Seeing the Great Buddha Statue and Sujata Kuti up close made the history feel real, not just something out of a textbook. Next came Rajgir and Nalanda, where we explored the ancient Nalanda University ruins — a must for anyone interested in Buddhist heritage and history in Bihar. The Bimbisar Jail stop added great historical context too. We then crossed into the Kushinagar region, visiting the Parinirvana Stupa and Ramabhar Stupa, the exact place where Buddha took his final breath. Deeply moving. Crossing the border into Lumbini, Nepal, was a highlight — visiting the Maya Devi Temple, Buddha's actual birthplace, felt like the emotional peak of the whole Buddhist heritage tour. The final days covering Kapilvastu and Shravasti, including the Angulimala Stupa, rounded out the pilgrimage beautifully before ending in Lucknow. What stood out: Comfortable 4-star hotel accommodations every night with private rooms Knowledgeable English-speaking Buddhist tour guide Smooth private transportation across India and Nepal All entrance tickets and breakfast included Well-paced 7-day itinerary — not rushed, not exhausting If you're planning a Buddhist pilgrimage trip to India and Nepal, tracing the life of Gautama Buddha from Sarnath to Bodhgaya, Kushinagar, and Lumbini, I'd highly recommend this tour operator. Great value, great guide, and an experience that stays with you long after you're home. Highly recommended for spiritual travelers, history lovers, and anyone seeking an authentic Buddhist circuit experience in India and Nepal.
