Getting There

• Public Transportation

  From Kathmandu, take a bus to Besisahar, which is the starting point of the Manaslu Circuit. Buses leave from the Gongabu Bus Park and the journey takes approximately 6-8 hours depending on traffic. Once you arrive in Besisahar, you can hire a local jeep or take a bus towards Jagat. The road from Besisahar to Jagat is well-traveled and should take about an hour. After reaching Jagat, you will need to trek to the Octopus Waterfall, which is roughly 30 minutes on foot from Jagat. Follow the trail signs toward the waterfall, which is known for its unique shape and beauty.

• Private Vehicle

  If you prefer to travel by private vehicle, you can rent a car in Kathmandu and drive to Besisahar. The drive will take approximately 6-7 hours. After reaching Besisahar, continue your journey towards Jagat by hiring a local jeep or continuing in your car if the road conditions allow. The last stretch from Jagat to the Octopus Waterfall will require a short trek of about 30 minutes. Make sure to follow local trails and signs to avoid getting lost. This option offers more flexibility but be prepared for potential road conditions.

• Trekking

  If you are already on the Manaslu Circuit and staying in one of the villages, you can trek directly to the Octopus Waterfall. From Jagat, the trek takes about 30 minutes. The trail is well-marked, following the river upstream. Make sure to carry enough water and snacks, as facilities may be limited along the way. Enjoy the scenic views and the unique aspects of the waterfall once you arrive.
