Getting There

• Car/Taxi

  From the Manaslu Circuit region, hire a taxi or drive to Lumle, which is approximately 2-3 hours away depending on your starting point in the circuit. Lumle is the gateway to the Mardi Himal Base Camp Trek. Ensure you have enough fuel and check your vehicle’s condition before setting off, as roads can be rugged.

  You can take a local bus from Gorkha or Besisahar to Lumle. Buses depart regularly, but schedules can vary, so it’s advisable to confirm the timings a day before your journey. The bus ride may take around 4-6 hours. Once you arrive in Lumle, you’ll find guesthouses and facilities to prepare for your trek.

• Trekking

  From Lumle, the trek to Mardi Himal Base Camp begins. Follow the marked trails leading towards the Mardi Himal region. It's advisable to hire a local guide or join a trekking group for safety and navigation assistance. The trek generally takes 3-5 days to reach the base camp, depending on your pace and chosen route.

  Expect to pay around NPR 250-500 for the bus fare to Lumle. If hiring a taxi, costs can range from NPR 5000 to 8000 depending on negotiation and distance.
