Walking
From the center of Nagarkot, head east towards the main road (Nagarkot-Bhaktapur Road). Once you reach the main road, turn left and walk along the road for approximately 2.5 kilometers. You will pass by several small shops and local houses. Keep an eye out for signposts directing towards Kulekhani Hydropower Reservoir. The road will gradually lead you downhill, eventually reaching the Kulekhani area.
Hiking
If you enjoy hiking, you can take the scenic route from Nagarkot to Kulekhani. Start from the Nagarkot view tower and follow the trail that leads south. The hike will take you through beautiful forests and offer stunning views of the surrounding hills. Continue on the trail for about 1.5 to 2 hours until you reach the Kulekhani Hydropower Reservoir area. Look for the dam, which is a prominent feature of the reservoir.
Public Transport
While public transport options are limited, you can take a local bus from Nagarkot to Kulekhani. Head to the local bus stop near the main road. Look for buses heading towards Bhaktapur or Kulekhani. The journey will take about 30-40 minutes. Inform the bus driver of your destination, and they will notify you when to get off. After disembarking, the Kulekhani Hydropower Reservoir should be a short walk from the bus stop.
