Walking
From the center of Nagarkot, head south on the main road towards Bhaktapur. Walk for about 30-40 minutes until you reach the intersection with the road leading into Bhaktapur. Continue straight on this road, keeping an eye out for local shops and small eateries along the way. Once you approach Bhaktapur, you will see signs directing you towards Durbar Square. Follow these signs, and after about 20 minutes of walking, you will reach the entrance to Durbar Square where the National Art Museum is located.

From Nagarkot, walk to the local bus station which is typically near the main square. Take a local bus heading to Bhaktapur. The bus ride will take about 30 minutes. Once you arrive at Bhaktapur, get off at the main bus stop and head towards Durbar Square. It’s about a 10-minute walk from the bus stop. Look for signs or ask locals for directions to the square, where you will find the National Art Museum.

Trekking
For a more adventurous route, consider trekking from Nagarkot to Bhaktapur. Start early in the morning to enjoy the stunning views. Follow the trekking trail that leads south from Nagarkot, passing through local villages and terraced fields. This trek will take approximately 2-3 hours. Once you reach Bhaktapur, navigate towards Durbar Square, which is well-signposted. The National Art Museum will be located within the square.
