Walking
From Nagarkot, start at the main square where local shops and restaurants are located. Head south on the main road towards the village of Changunarayan. After about a 20-minute walk, you will reach the Changunarayan Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage site. From here, continue on the main road heading towards Bhaktapur. It will take approximately 1.5 to 2 hours of walking to reach Bhaktapur. Make sure to stay on the paved road, and follow the signs that direct you to Bhaktapur.

Public Bus
From Nagarkot, walk to the bus stop located near the main square. Look for a local bus heading to Bhaktapur. The bus ride will take about 30-40 minutes. Ensure to inform the bus conductor that you want to get off at Bhaktapur. Once you arrive, follow the signs to Bhaktapur Durbar Square, which is about a 10-minute walk from the bus stop.

Shared Taxi
To take a shared taxi from Nagarkot, walk to the main square and look for the taxi stand. Negotiate a fare with a driver going to Bhaktapur. The ride will take around 30 minutes. Once you reach the outskirts of Bhaktapur, tell the driver you want to go to Bhaktapur Durbar Square, and they will drop you off nearby. The square is a short walk from where you are dropped off.
