Car
If you are traveling by car, head towards the tourist bus park in Pokhara. From there, take the Siddhartha Highway (also known as the Pokhara-Baglung Highway) heading east. After approximately 10 minutes, keep an eye out for signs directing you to Chamere Gufa (Cave of Bats). Turn left onto the road that leads to the cave entrance. There is a small parking area available nearby. The drive should take about 20-30 minutes depending on traffic.
Public Transportation
To reach Chamere Gufa using public transport, start at the Lakeside area of Pokhara. Look for a local 'microbus' or 'tempo' heading towards the Bat Cave. You can ask locals for assistance to find the right bus. The fare is usually around NPR 30-50. The ride will take roughly 30-40 minutes. Once you arrive at the designated stop for Chamere Gufa, you will need to walk approximately 10-15 minutes to reach the cave entrance. Follow the path leading uphill, and watch for signs directing you to the cave.
Walking
If you’re already near the Pokhara Lakeside area, you may choose to walk to Chamere Gufa. The walk is approximately 6 kilometers and will take around 1.5 to 2 hours. Head north along the lakeside road, then take the road leading towards the hill where the cave is located. Follow the signs, and enjoy the scenic views along the way. It’s a great way to experience the natural beauty of the region. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes as the path can be steep in some areas.
