Getting There

  • Car

    If you are driving, head towards the main road (Prithvi Highway) from your location in Pokhara. Follow the signs towards the Lakeside area. Once you reach the Lakeside, continue straight until you see the intersection with a sign for the International Mountain Museum. Turn left at the intersection onto the road that leads towards Ratopairo. The museum will be on your right after approximately 1 kilometer. Look for the large building with a sign indicating the International Mountain Museum.

  • Public Transportation

    To reach the International Mountain Museum by public transport, find a local bus or a taxi heading towards Ratopairo area. You can catch a bus from any bus stand around Lakeside, specifically buses going in the direction of Pokhara Airport or Ratopairo. Ask the driver to drop you off at the International Mountain Museum stop. Once you get off, the museum will be just a short walk ahead on your right side, approximately a 5-minute walk.

  • Walking

    If you are close enough to walk, start from Lakeside and head towards the main road (Prithvi Highway). Walk straight along the Lakeside promenade until you reach the intersection with the road to Ratopairo. Turn left and continue walking. After about 1 kilometer, you will see the International Mountain Museum on your right. The walk will take around 15-20 minutes.
