Getting There

  • Trekking

    From Pokhara, head to the Tourist Bus Park located in the Lakeside area. Purchase a ticket for a bus to Nayapul. The bus ride will take approximately 1 to 1.5 hours. Upon reaching Nayapul, disembark and follow the trail towards Tikhedhunga. This trek takes about 2-3 hours and is a well-marked path. Continue trekking through the villages until you reach Ulleri, which is a popular stop. After resting, you can continue your trek towards Ghorepani. This part of the trek will take an additional 4-5 hours. From Ghorepani, you will have stunning views of Annapurna. If you wish to reach Poon Hill for the sunrise view, start early in the morning, as it’s a short hike from Ghorepani.

    Alternatively, if you prefer a more direct route to Annapurna Base Camp, after reaching Nayapul, you can trek to Ghandruk instead. The trail is mostly uphill and takes about 5-6 hours. Ghandruk is a beautiful Gurung village with stunning views of Annapurna. From Ghandruk, continue trekking towards Chhomrong, which will take about 6-7 hours. This is a popular route and is well-marked. Once you reach Chhomrong, you can continue towards Annapurna Base Camp, which will take about 3-4 days of trekking, depending on your pace. This route offers breathtaking views and passes through diverse landscapes and local villages.

    Another option is to trek to Annapurna Sanctuary. Start from Nayapul and head towards Birethanti, where you will need to register your trekking permits. From Birethanti, follow the trail through Tikhedhunga and continue to Ghorepani. From Ghorepani, trek towards Tadapani and then continue to Chhomrong. From Chhomrong, head up to the Annapurna Base Camp, which typically takes about 5-7 days of trekking. This route also provides an opportunity to explore the natural beauty and cultural heritage of the region.
