From Kathmandu, drive to Dolakha and then to Charikot. The road is well-marked and takes about 7-8 hours. After reaching Charikot, continue towards Shigatse and then to the Rolwaling Valley. The last part of the journey will involve a rough road leading to the village of Gongar. Once you arrive in Gongar, park your car and prepare for a trek. Ascend towards the Hungo Ice climbing spot, which is approximately a 2-3 hour hike from Gongar, following the trail signs.

Take a bus or microbus from Kathmandu to Dolakha. The bus ride typically takes around 7-8 hours. Upon reaching Dolakha, find local transportation to Charikot. From Charikot, you can catch another bus or jeep to Gongar. This part of the journey may take around 2-3 hours.
