Getting There

  • Walking

    If you're starting from Amsterdam Central Station, exit the station and head to the right towards the IJ river. Walk straight along the Prins Hendrikkade until you reach the Damrak. Continue walking down the Damrak street until you reach the Dam Square. From there, you can see the National Monument and the Royal Palace. Take the exit towards Rokin and head straight until you reach the Muntplein. Continue straight along the Amstel until you reach the intersection with the Reguliersgracht. Turn left onto Reguliersgracht and then take the first right onto the Keizersgracht. Walk along the Keizersgracht until you reach the intersection with the Herengracht, then turn left. Continue until you reach the Westermarkt. Descartes House is located at Westermarkt 6, just a short walk from here.

    From Amsterdam Central Station, take tram line 2 or 12 towards 'Amsterdam Zuid'. Get off at the stop 'Westermarkt'. Once you exit the tram, walk towards the Westermarkt square. Descartes House is located at Westermarkt 6, which is just a few steps from the tram stop.
