Getting There

Walking
If you are near Amsterdam Centraal Station, exit the station and head towards the main entrance facing the water. From there, walk straight down the Prins Hendrikkade street. After about 10 minutes, you will reach the intersection with the Damstraat. Turn left onto Damstraat and continue walking until you reach the Nieuwezijds Voorburgwal. Turn right and walk for an additional 5 minutes until you see the Nieuwmarkt square on your left.

Tram
If you are near the Leidseplein, find the tram stop for tram line 1, 2, or 5. Board the tram and travel towards Centraal Station. Get off at the 'Zeedijk' stop. After exiting the tram, walk straight ahead and take a left on the first street you encounter which is the 'Oudezijds Voorburgwal'. Continue walking until you reach the Nieuwmarkt square, which will be on your right.
