Rijksmuseumtuinen: A Serene Oasis in Amsterdam

Getting There

• Walking

  If you are in the city center, head towards Museumplein, which is well-marked on most maps. From the Rijksmuseum, it’s a short walk to the Rijksmuseumtuinen. Simply walk south along the Stadhouderskade, then turn right onto the Museumplein. The gardens are located at the rear of the Rijksmuseum, easily accessible through the main entrance.

• Tram

  Take tram line 2 or 12 from central locations like Dam Square or Centraal Station. Get off at the 'Museumplein' stop. Once you exit the tram, walk towards the Rijksmuseum, and the gardens are located behind the museum. Follow the paths leading through the entrance of the museum.

• Bicycle

  If you are renting a bicycle, head towards the Museumplein area. You can cycle along the main roads like the Stadhouderskade. There are bike paths leading directly to Museumplein. Once you arrive, park your bike at the designated bike parking areas, and walk towards the gardens at the back of the Rijksmuseum.

• Bus

  You can take bus line 347 or 357 to the 'Museumplein' stop. After getting off the bus, walk towards the Rijksmuseum, which is visible from the bus stop. The gardens are located behind the museum, which you can access through the main visitor entrance.
