If you are in the city center of Groningen, start at the Grote Markt (Great Market Square). From there, head east on A-Kerkhof towards the A-Kerk (the church). Continue straight onto Hereweg, which will take you out of the city. Follow the signs for Assen, which is approximately 30 kilometers away. You can also take a bus from the city center to Assen; look for buses heading to Assen at the bus station next to the train station. The bus ride takes about 30 to 40 minutes.

From Groningen Central Station, take a train towards Assen. Trains run frequently, approximately every 30 minutes. Once you arrive at Assen Station, exit the station and head left onto Stationsplein. Walk straight for about 500 meters until you reach Brink. The Drenthe Archive is located at Entree Museumlaantje, Brink 4. It should take you around 10 minutes to walk from the train station to the archive.
