Getting There

• Walking

  If you are in the city center of Haarlem, start at the Grote Markt (the main square). From the Grote Markt, head northeast towards the Bakenessergracht canal. Continue walking straight until you reach the intersection with the Nieuwe Gracht canal. Turn left and follow the Nieuwe Gracht until you reach the intersection with the Zijlweg. Cross over to the Zijlweg and head towards the train station, Haarlem Centraal. Once at Haarlem Centraal, take a train to Alkmaar. The train journey takes approximately 30 minutes. Upon arrival at Alkmaar station, exit the station and head towards the city center. You can follow the signs to Waagplein, which is where the Dutch Cheese Museum is located. The museum is situated at Waagplein 2, just a short walk from the center.

  From your location in Haarlem, make your way to the nearest bus stop or train station. The most convenient option is to go to Haarlem Centraal station. Once there, purchase a ticket for a train to Alkmaar. The trains run frequently, and the journey takes about 30 minutes. When you arrive at Alkmaar station, follow the signs to the city center. Head towards Waagplein, where the Dutch Cheese Museum is located at Waagplein 2. It's a short walk from the station, so just keep an eye out for the signs pointing you in the right direction.
