Train
From Haarlem, head to Haarlem train station (Haarlem Centraal). You can walk to the station from the city center in about 15 minutes. Once at the station, purchase a ticket to Alkmaar, which should take around 30 minutes. After arriving at Alkmaar station, exit the station and head towards the main road, 'Stationsweg'. Turn left and walk straight until you reach the intersection with 'Gevers Deynootweg'. Turn right and continue walking until you see signs for 'Waagplein'. The Dutch Cheese Museum is located at Waagplein 2, just ahead.
Bus
From the city center of Haarlem, walk to the nearest bus stop, 'Haarlem, Station'. Take bus line 50 towards Alkmaar. The bus ride will take about 40 minutes. Get off at the 'Alkmaar, Waagplein' stop. From there, the Dutch Cheese Museum is just a short walk away. Head towards Waagplein square, and you will see the museum at Waagplein 2.
Bicycle
If you prefer cycling, rent a bike from one of the many rental shops in Haarlem. Head north towards the 'Noorderweg' and follow the cycle paths that lead to Alkmaar. The ride will take approximately 45 minutes to an hour. Once you arrive in Alkmaar, follow the signs to the city center and Waagplein, where the Dutch Cheese Museum is located at Waagplein 2.
Walking
For a more adventurous option, you can walk from Haarlem to Alkmaar. This is a longer journey, approximately 10 kilometers, which will take around 2 hours. Start from the city center and head north, following the path along the 'Spaarne' river. Keep walking straight until you reach Alkmaar; follow the signs to the city center and Waagplein, where you will find the Dutch Cheese Museum at Waagplein 2.
