Getting There

• Public Transport

  To get to 'This is Holland' from Haarlem, start by walking to Haarlem's main train station (Haarlem Station). Once at the station, take a train heading to Amsterdam Central Station. The journey takes approximately 20 minutes. After arriving at Amsterdam Central Station, exit the station and head to the ferry terminal located just to the north of the station. From there, board the free ferry that goes to Amsterdam-Noord. The ferry ride lasts about 5-10 minutes. When you disembark, follow the signs that direct you to Overhoeksplein. 'This is Holland' is located at Overhoeksplein 51, and you can easily walk to the entrance in just a few minutes.

• Bicycle

  If you prefer to cycle, you can rent a bike in Haarlem. Head towards the city center and follow the signs for the Amsterdam route. The ride to Amsterdam takes about 30-40 minutes. Once you reach Amsterdam, continue cycling towards the northern part of the city, following the signs for Amsterdam-Noord. When you arrive at the ferry terminal near Amsterdam Central Station, you can take your bike on the ferry to cross to Overhoeksplein. After disembarking, ride for a short distance to reach 'This is Holland' at Overhoeksplein 51.

• Walking

  Walking from Haarlem to 'This is Holland' is not practical due to the distance (around 20 km). However, you can walk to Haarlem Station and take a train to Amsterdam Central Station, then transfer to the ferry as described above. If you still wish to walk, you can take a leisurely stroll along the scenic paths, but it is advisable to do this only if you are comfortable with long-distance walking and have enough time.
