Getting There

Walking
From the center of Haarlem, start at the Grote Markt. Head southeast on the Zijlstraat. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with the Nieuwe Gracht. Turn left onto the Nieuwe Gracht and follow it until you reach the railway station (Haarlem Station). Once at the station, take a train to Leiden, which should take about 15 minutes. After arriving at Leiden Station, exit the station and head northeast towards the Breestraat. Walk straight until you reach the Groenhazengracht, where the Doelenpoort is located.

Bicycle
If you prefer cycling, rent a bike from one of the many bicycle rental shops in Haarlem. Start at the Grote Markt and head southeast on the Zijlstraat. Follow the road as it curves and turns into the Nieuwe Gracht. Continue cycling until you reach Haarlem Station. From there, take a train to Leiden. After arriving at Leiden Station, exit and cycle northeast towards Breestraat. Turn left on Breestraat and then right onto Groenhazengracht. The Doelenpoort will be on your right.

To reach the Doelenpoort via public transport, begin at the nearest bus or tram stop in Haarlem. Take bus number 50 towards Leiden, which can be caught at several stops in the city center. The journey takes about 30 minutes. Once you arrive at the Leiden bus station, walk towards Leiden Station. From there, head northeast to Breestraat and then to Groenhazengracht, where you will find the Doelenpoort.
