National Holocaust Names Monument: A Tribute to Memory and Resilience

Getting There

• Walking

  From Haarlem Central Station, exit the station and head southeast towards the city center. Walk straight for about 1.5 kilometers along the Zijlweg until you reach the Spaarne River. Follow the river until you see the bridge, then cross over to the other side and continue walking along the riverbank. You'll pass by several cafes and shops. Once you reach the intersection with the Gedempte Oude Gracht, turn right and proceed until you reach the intersection with the Lange Herenstraat. Here, turn left and continue straight until you reach the main square (Grote Markt). From there, head towards the north and take the bus number 300 towards Amsterdam, which will take you directly to the National Holocaust Names Monument.

• Public Transport

  From Haarlem Central Station, take the train towards Amsterdam Sloterdijk. The journey takes about 20 minutes. Once you arrive at Amsterdam Central Station, exit the station and follow the signs to the metro. Take Metro Line 52 (Noord) towards Noord and get off at the 'Zuid' station. From there, you can either take a bus or walk. If you choose to walk, head southeast towards the Wibautstraat and follow it until you reach the National Holocaust Names Monument, which is located at 1018 DN Amsterdam.

• Bicycle

  Rent a bicycle from one of the rental shops near Haarlem Central Station. Once you have your bike, head out of the station and follow the Zijlweg, cycling southeast towards Amsterdam. You'll follow the road that runs along the Spaarne River. The bike ride is about 15 kilometers and should take roughly 30-40 minutes. Upon reaching Amsterdam, follow the signs to the National Holocaust Names Monument, which is located at 1018 DN Amsterdam. Be sure to park your bike in the designated areas.
