If you are traveling by car, start from the center of the IJsselmeer Polders and follow the signs towards the N9 highway. Take the N9 northbound towards Petten. After approximately 30 kilometers, take the exit towards Petten. Continue on the local roads, following the signs into the village of Petten. Once in Petten, follow the local signs to the Pettemerduinen nature reserve. There is free parking available near the entrance.

For those using public transportation, start by taking a train from your nearest station to Alkmaar. The train runs frequently, and the journey takes about 30 minutes. Once in Alkmaar, transfer to bus line 165 towards Petten. The bus ride will take approximately 30 minutes. Make sure to check the bus schedule in advance as it may vary. Get off at the stop 'Petten, Dorpsstraat' and walk towards the beach area, following the signs for Pettemerduinen, which is about a 15-minute walk from the bus stop.

Bicycle
If you prefer cycling, you can rent a bike in the IJsselmeer Polders area. Use the well-marked cycling paths to head towards Petten. Follow the N9 route as it is bike-friendly. The distance is about 25 kilometers from the central IJsselmeer Polders, and it will take approximately 1.5 hours to reach Pettemerduinen, depending on your cycling speed. Once you arrive in Petten, follow the signs to the nature reserve.
