Walking
Start at the Leiden Central Station. Exit the station and head southeast on Stationsplein. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Beestenmarkt. Turn right onto Beestenmarkt and walk until you reach the end of the street. You will see a large square in front of you, called the Hooglandse Kerk. Continue walking straight ahead until you reach the bridge over the canal. Cross the bridge and follow the road as it becomes Haarlemmerstraat. Walk straight until you reach the main road, then turn left onto Breestraat. Follow this road until you reach the large intersection with the Rijnsburgerweg. Cross the intersection and head towards the direction of Amsterdam. After about a 10-minute walk, you will arrive at the train station, where you can catch a train to Amsterdam. Once in Amsterdam, exit at Amsterdam Central Station. From there, take the tram number 4, 14, or 24 towards the direction of 'Amsterdam - Amstel'. Get off at the stop 'Amsterdam, Amstel'. Walk towards Amstel 3, which is just a short 5-minute walk from the tram stop.
Bicycle
Rent a bicycle from one of the bike rental shops near the Leiden Central Station. After renting your bike, exit the station and head southeast on Stationsplein. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Beestenmarkt, then turn right. Continue straight, following the canal until you reach the Rijnsburgerweg. Turn left onto Rijnsburgerweg and cycle straight towards Amsterdam. After around 20 minutes of cycling, you will arrive at Amsterdam. Park your bike at a bike parking facility near Amsterdam Central Station. From there, it's a short ride on a tram number 4, 14, or 24 towards 'Amsterdam - Amstel'. Get off at the stop 'Amsterdam, Amstel'. Amstel 3 is just a 5-minute walk from the tram stop.
Train
Go to Leiden Central Station. Purchase a ticket for a train to Amsterdam Central Station. The train ride takes about 35 minutes. Once you arrive at Amsterdam Central Station, exit the train and look for tram lines. Take tram number 4, 14, or 24 towards 'Amsterdam - Amstel'. Get off at the stop 'Amsterdam, Amstel'. From there, it’s a 5-minute walk to Amstel 3, where the National Opera & Ballet is located.
