Walking
From the center of Leiden, start at the main train station (Leiden Centraal). Exit the station and head towards the bus terminal. Look for bus line 57, which heads to Utrecht. Board the bus and enjoy the scenic ride. After approximately 30 minutes, disembark at the 'Utrecht, Botanische Tuinen' stop. From there, you will see signs directing you to the Utrecht Botanic Gardens, which is just a short 5-minute walk away.
Bicycle
If you prefer cycling, rent a bicycle from one of the many bike rental shops in Leiden. From the city center, head towards the N206 road. Follow the bike path towards Utrecht, which is approximately a 30-minute ride. As you approach Utrecht, follow signs for the city center, then look for signs for the Utrecht Botanic Gardens located at Budapestlaan 17.
Public Transport (Train)
Make your way to Leiden Centraal train station. Purchase a ticket for a train heading to Utrecht. The journey typically takes around 20 minutes. Once you arrive at Utrecht Centraal station, exit the station and follow the signs to the bus terminal. Take bus line 57 towards 'Utrecht, Botanische Tuinen' and get off at the designated stop. You will find the botanic gardens a short walk from there.
