Train
To reach Blaak in Rotterdam from Leiden, start by heading to Leiden Centraal station. Once at the station, purchase a ticket to Rotterdam Centraal. Trains to Rotterdam run frequently, so you won't have to wait long. The journey takes approximately 30 minutes. Upon arrival at Rotterdam Centraal, exit the station and follow the signs to the metro station. Take the metro line D (the yellow line) towards De Akkers. After two stops, get off at the Blaak station. From there, you can stroll around and explore the area.
Bus
If you prefer to take a bus, start at the Leiden Centraal bus station. Look for bus service 50 that travels directly to Rotterdam. Once you board the bus, find a seat and enjoy the ride, which should take about 45-60 minutes depending on traffic. The bus will drop you off at Rotterdam Centraal. From there, follow the instructions for the train above: head to the metro station and take line D towards De Akkers, getting off at Blaak station.
Bike
For the more adventurous travelers, renting a bike is an option. You can rent a bike from various rental shops in Leiden. Cycle towards the city center and head towards the N207 road. Follow the signs to Rotterdam. The journey is approximately 30 km and can take about 1.5 to 2 hours depending on your cycling speed. Once you arrive in Rotterdam, navigate to Blaak by following the signs or using a map application on your phone.
Walking
Walking to Rotterdam from Leiden is quite a challenge, as it's a long distance of around 30 km. If you're up for it, you can set out from the city center of Leiden and follow the path along the N207 road. However, this journey would take several hours, so it's highly recommended to take public transport instead to ensure you have time to explore Blaak and the surrounding area.
