Walking
From the center of Leiden, head towards the Leiden Central Station. Exit the station and walk straight towards the Beestenmarkt (market square). Once you reach Beestenmarkt, turn left onto the Nieuwe Beestenmarkt and continue walking straight until you reach the intersection with the Haarlemmerstraat. Turn right onto Haarlemmerstraat and continue walking until you reach the train station at Leiden. From there, take a train to Amsterdam Centraal Station. Once you arrive at Amsterdam Centraal, exit the station and head south to the Damrak. Continue walking along Damrak until you reach the intersection with the Dam Square. From Dam Square, head east towards the street called 'Oudezijds Voorburgwal'. Continue walking until you see the Scheepvaarthuis, located at 1011 AK Amsterdam.
Bus
Start at the Leiden Central Station and head to the bus terminal located right outside the station. Look for bus line 43 or 44 that goes to Amsterdam. Board the bus and enjoy the ride to Amsterdam. Get off at the stop 'Amsterdam, Dam' which is close to the Dam Square. From there, walk east towards 'Oudezijds Voorburgwal', and you will find the Scheepvaarthuis at 1011 AK Amsterdam. This option is convenient and might save you some walking.
Train
Make your way to Leiden Central Station. From the station, board an Intercity train heading to Amsterdam Centraal Station. The journey takes approximately 35 minutes. Once you arrive at Amsterdam Centraal, exit the station and walk south to the Damrak. Follow the street until you reach the Dam Square, and then head east towards 'Oudezijds Voorburgwal'. Continue walking, and you will find the Scheepvaarthuis at 1011 AK Amsterdam. Trains run frequently, so you shouldn't have to wait long for the next one.
