Walking
From Utrecht Central Station, exit the station and head towards the Vredenburg square. Walk straight along the Vredenburg until you reach the intersection with the Oudegracht canal. Turn right onto the Oudegracht and continue walking along the canal for about 10 minutes. You will pass several shops and cafes along the way. Keep an eye out for signs pointing towards Amsterdam as you approach the bus station. Once you reach the end of the Oudegracht, continue walking straight until you see the signs for Utrecht's main bus terminal. From there, take a bus heading to Amsterdam; the journey will take approximately 30 minutes.
Train
Begin at Utrecht Central Station. Purchase a ticket for Amsterdam Centraal at the ticket machines or the ticket counter. Once you have your ticket, locate the platform for trains heading to Amsterdam. Ensure that the train is going to Amsterdam Centraal. The journey will take around 30 minutes. After arriving at Amsterdam Centraal, follow the signs to the exit and head towards the tram station. From there, take tram line 14 towards the 'Amsterdam, Dam' tram stop. Disembark at the 'Keizersgracht' stop. From there, it's a short walk to the Magere Brug. Just follow the signs or ask locals for directions.
Bus
From Utrecht Central Station, head to the bus terminal located just outside the station. Look for buses heading towards Amsterdam. You can check the schedule for direct buses to Amsterdam which usually run every 30 minutes. The bus journey takes about 45 minutes. Once you arrive in Amsterdam, disembark at the central bus station and follow the signs for public transportation. You can either walk or take a tram to reach the Magere Brug, which is located within walking distance from the bus drop-off point.
