From Zaanse Schans, drive south on the N516 road towards the A8 motorway. Merge onto the A8 and follow the signs towards Amsterdam. After approximately 10 km, take the exit toward S116 and continue on the S116. Follow the signs for Plantage Middenlaan. Once you reach Plantage Middenlaan, you will find Hortus Botanicus at Plantage Middenlaan 2a, 1018 DD Amsterdam. Parking may be available in nearby parking garages, but check for availability and possible fees.

From Zaanse Schans, walk to the Zaanse Schans bus stop. Take bus line 391 towards Amsterdam. It will take approximately 30 minutes to reach Amsterdam Centraal Station. From there, transfer to tram line 14 or 9. If taking tram line 14, get off at the 'Artis' stop; if taking tram line 9, get off at the 'Hortus' stop. From either stop, it is a short walk to Hortus Botanicus at Plantage Middenlaan 2a. Be aware of the public transport ticket costs, which vary depending on the type of ticket purchased.
