Getting There

• Public Bus

  From Carson City, head to the nearest bus stop on North Carson Street. Take the Douglas County Route 19 bus towards Stateline. Stay on the bus for about 45 minutes until you reach the Stateline stop. From there, you will need to walk approximately 1 mile towards Emerald Bay. Follow the signs for Emerald Bay State Park, and you should arrive at Lower Eagle Falls.

• Bicycle

  Rent a bicycle from one of the local rental shops in Carson City, such as at the Carson City Bike Shop on North Carson Street. Start by heading south on North Carson Street until you reach the intersection with Highway 50. Continue along Highway 50 west for about 20 miles, following the signs towards South Lake Tahoe. Look for Emerald Bay State Park signs, and take the exit that leads you to the park entrance. Once inside the park, follow the trails that lead to Lower Eagle Falls.

• Walking/Trail

  If you are up for an adventurous hike, you can start from the Carson City area and head towards the Tahoe Rim Trail. Follow the trail markers leading towards the South Lake Tahoe area. This will be a long hike, approximately 20 miles, so ensure you are prepared with water and snacks. Once you reach the Emerald Bay area, look for signs directing you to Lower Eagle Falls.
