    From Carson City, take the Tahoe Transportation District bus from the Carson City Transit Center located at 2050 E William St. Board the bus headed towards South Lake Tahoe. The ride will take approximately 1 hour. Get off at the stop closest to Mount Tallac Trail. Once you disembark, follow the signs leading to the trailhead, which is a short walk from the bus stop.

    If you prefer cycling, you can rent a bike from one of the local rental shops in Carson City. Head east on E William St towards the US-395 S. Follow the bike lanes until you reach the junction with CA-89 S. Continue on CA-89 S, which will take you directly towards South Lake Tahoe. The ride is approximately 30 miles and will take around 3 hours, depending on your pace. Make sure to bring sufficient water and snacks for the journey.
