Getting There

  • Walking

    If you're starting from downtown Elko, head west on Idaho Street. Continue walking until you reach the intersection with 5th Street. Turn left onto 5th Street and walk for about 0.6 miles. You'll pass several shops and restaurants along the way. When you reach the intersection with the I-80 overpass, cross the street and continue straight onto the road leading to the California Trail Interpretive Center. Keep an eye out for the signs directing you towards the center, which is about 1 mile from the overpass. The center will be on your right at 1 Interpretive Center Way.

    To bicycle to the California Trail Interpretive Center from downtown Elko, start on Idaho Street heading west. Once you reach 5th Street, turn left and continue until you reach the I-80 overpass. Carefully cross the intersection and continue straight on the road leading to the center. This route is approximately 1.6 miles and offers a scenic view of the area. Look for the bike path signs as you approach the Interpretive Center, which is located at 1 Interpretive Center Way.
