Public Bus
From the Las Vegas Strip, take the RTC bus route 203 from the 'Tropicana' bus stop heading towards 'Sahara and Las Vegas Blvd'. Ride until you reach 'Rainbow and Charleston'. Transfer to route 215 and ride until you reach the 'Red Rock Canyon Visitor Center'. The visitor center is your last stop, and you can get information about local trails and hiking options.
Rideshare (Uber/Lyft)
Open your rideshare app (Uber or Lyft) and set your pickup location to your current spot in Las Vegas. Enter 'Calico Tanks, Las Vegas, NV 89161' as your destination. The ride will take approximately 30-40 minutes depending on traffic conditions. Make sure to confirm with the driver that they will take you to the Calico Tanks Trailhead at Red Rock Canyon.
Bicycle
If you are feeling adventurous, you can rent a bicycle in Las Vegas. Start from the Strip and head west on Sahara Avenue. Continue until you reach the intersection with Rainbow Blvd, where you will turn left. Follow Rainbow Blvd until you reach the entrance of Red Rock Canyon. The bike ride is approximately 12 miles and can take about 1-1.5 hours, depending on your pace. Once you arrive at the entrance, you will need to walk or bike the remaining distance to the Calico Tanks Trailhead.
Walking
If you are near Red Rock Canyon and prefer walking, you can take a scenic route through the surrounding areas. Make sure to have a map or GPS on hand. Walk towards the Red Rock Canyon entrance and from there, follow the signage to the Calico Tanks Trailhead. This can take a few hours depending on your starting point, so be prepared for a long hike.
