Car
To reach Black Rock Desert - High Rock Canyon Emigrant Trails National Conservation Area from Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area, start by getting onto NV-159 W (Blue Diamond Road) from the visitor center. Follow NV-159 W for approximately 10 miles until you reach the junction with NV-160. Merge onto NV-160 W and continue for about 30 miles until you reach Pahrump. In Pahrump, merge onto US-95 N towards Las Vegas. After about 45 miles, take the exit for NV-447 N towards Gerlach. Continue on NV-447 N for roughly 75 miles until you reach the small town of Gerlach. From Gerlach, turn onto County Road 34, which will lead you directly to the entrance of the Black Rock Desert - High Rock Canyon Emigrant Trails NCA. The entire drive will take approximately 3 to 4 hours without significant stops, depending on traffic and road conditions.

If you are relying on public transportation, you can take a Greyhound or other long-distance bus service from Las Vegas to Reno. From Reno, you can find local shuttle services or car rentals to reach Gerlach. Once in Gerlach, you can either walk or take a taxi to County Road 34, which leads to the Black Rock Desert - High Rock Canyon Emigrant Trails NCA. Keep in mind that public transportation options can be limited, and it may be more efficient to rent a car once you arrive in Reno.
